What data is collected

• Device identifier. A random ID generated on your device, used to associate your data with your account. Not linked to your Apple ID or personal identity.
• Pet information. Name, breed, age, and dietary concerns you provide during onboarding.
• Photos. Photos of dog food ingredient labels that you submit for scanning.
• Email address. Only if you sign up for the waitlist on altie.app.

How data is used

• Photos are sent to Anthropic's AI service to extract ingredient text. Anthropic does not store your photos.
• Extracted ingredients are scored against a database of ingredient safety data.
• Pet information is used to personalize scoring by life stage and breed size.
• Email addresses are used only to notify you when the app is available.

Third-party services

• Anthropic processes ingredient photos for text extraction (OCR). Photos are not retained by Anthropic after processing.
• Amazon Web Services stores submitted photos securely.

Data storage and security

All data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Authentication uses server-generated tokens that expire automatically.

Data deletion

You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from the Settings screen in the app. This permanently removes your device registration, pet profiles, scan history, saved products, and submitted photos.

No selling or sharing

Your data is never sold, shared with advertisers, or provided to pet food manufacturers. Altie is funded entirely by subscriptions.
